Do's And Don'ts For The Coronavirus || All Myths Busted

My main Intent for this blog was just to post things related to technical stuff. But now from past several weeks I've got several "Whatsapp Forwards" related to different "Home Remedies" to treat the COVID-19 ( Coronavirus). And sadly, Most people tend to believe these. So it had been a big concern that this is a quite serious issue and these "Forwards" were misleading the people alot, So after researching and by listening to intervies of highly qualified doctors, I got some Do's and Don'ts for you.

First of all I would Like to Bust all the Myths related to this particular virus:

(1) Using Onions/Garlic to cure virus:

Like are you guys serious?? If just using these things would simply cure this virus then why the governments would spend so much of money for the research on this virus when they could just simply increase the supply of these items. So please, Don't believe on these superstitions, and follow the guidelines provided by the international organisations or by your own country's government. For your convinience, I'll giving you the links of the guidelines issued by the WHO and by the Govt. of India.

(2) By drinking Gaumutra

You won't believe this but this has been spreading on the large scale, here's a video which I got from Youtube:

Yes this seems quite funny to see people to spread these rumours publicaly. But sadly some people tend to believe these. And also, surprisingly the prices of Gaumutra  have started increasing by which you can get the idea that how fast these rumours make their place in innocent people's mind.

(3) Alcohol consumption will help:

Last week I saw that on an public interview, a guy was saying that alcohol consumption will make then rid of the Novel Coronavirus. But sorry to say, there are no scientific evidences to say so. Therefore whether you consume it or not, won't make any changes.

(4) Homeopathy Drugs can cure the virus:

This is also a completely irrational statement. The point to be noted is that these drugs may improve your immunity which my make your body to tolerate this virus. But saying that these drugs can cure you does not make any sense.

(5) Indian summers will make Coronvirus die:

While most of the people are assuming that when the mercury would go up, the COVID-19 will stop, but actually, there's no scientific proof for that. So if you were being relaxed because of it, it's time for you to take precautions.

Ok so now we've talked alot the myths of the Novel Coronavirus, We'll be discussing some do's and don'ts that you can apply into your day-to-day life:

First we'll be talkig about some Do's:

(i) Avoid Going to public places:
This is because this is human-to-human transmitting virus, so this will spread more when you are in public place because you don't know who is infected by the virus.

(ii) Wash your hands throughly with soap/Sanitizers:
Well this has been taught to you since your very childhood, but still this is a reminder if you don't. Also, use sanitizers only when soap and water aren't available. Don't make it a permanent alternative for the soap.

(iii) Follow the guidelines issued by the Government and international organisations:
This is because at there offices, a team of experts and researchers who are there to make you safe and healthy. And if you don't co-operate with them, you'll only create inconvinience for them.

(iv) Senior Citizens/ Old people take special care: This is because their immune system is weak as compared to a normal healthy adult so they are more vulnerable to this virus.

Now let's talk about some Don'ts:

(i) Don't quickly rush to hospitals: This is because symptoms of common cold and that of the novel coronavirus are quite similar so if you just rush to hospitals just because you sneezed once, you'll just occupy the time slots of doctors which could be given to the actual patient.
But if the symptoms lasts longer than usual (typically one week for common cold for a normal adult), then goto doctor.

(ii) Don't create stocks of grocerry at home: This is because our Prime mminister has already said that shops will be running normally. Also, if you create stocks, prices of stuffs will rise and then financially weaker people would suffer.

(iii) Don't spread fake forwards in Social media: Before forwarding any article/video/image, make sure you anaylze it throughly that it does not say anything which is not correct. Because if you do so, it will make the situation worsen.

That was all from my side, Stay safe and stay at home as much as possible. Take healthy diet and make distance with people. Our government is doing it's job and what we can do is just to take precautions and don't panick

I highly suggest you to watch this video which is a interview of Dr. Mukesh Bhatia from Fortis hospital, New Delhi:
